1. DEEPLISH YOUTH CLUB

Link4Life staff, Councillors, Brett, Zaman and Zaheer, Sgt Ibbotson and young people at junior youth Club at Deeplish Community Centre

The launch of the Junior Youth Club at Deeplish Community Centre was held last week.

The club provides arts and crafts, sports, games and challenges for children between the ages 8 – 11 free of charge.

Councillors Brett, Zaman and Zaheer, who attended, said it is a real opportunity for young children to get involved, improve health and fitness and participate in variety of sports and games at a local community centre.
Sgt Ibbotson also attended the launch and spoke with children about safe play and safety around the neighbourhood.

Mohammed Saleem, Chairman of Deeplish Community Centre, said: “We are very proud to provide safe and suitable activities for children who are attending our centre, which not only offers sports and games but improves health and wellbeing and confidence in a secure and friendly environment.

“It’s very important to work in partnership with other organisations to offer variety of activities.
"This is an excellent opportunity for parents to send their children to participate in this youth club, which is run by qualified staff and attended by professionals’ workers.
"I would like to thank Jonathan Hayhurst from Link4Life and staff at Deeplish Community Centre.”
The club is to run every Tuesday, from 5.45pm – 7.45pm at Deeplish Community Centre.
